Do you want to improve your skills from a basic granny square? Well, we have you covered. We will be conducting the Shelley Husband Granny Crochet Academy Workshops. This is a 10-week course on all of the basics of crocheting and by the end you will be well on your way to completing your own project.

These workshops are instructed by one of our experienced crocheters, Alison. She will walk you through each of the stages of the workshop each week, set homework and assist with any problem solving you had from the week before.

What you will learn:

how to read a written pattern
how to crochet seamlessly
how to work new stitches
how to work new techniques
how to change colours
how to join squares
how to work out how much yarn you need for a granny square project
and LOTS more.

It doesn’t matter if you use UK or US terminology, as both are covered in Granny Square Academy.

What will you be able to do at the end of completing the Shelley Husband Granny Square Academy workshops?

Once you have completed all the workshops, you will have all the skills you need to tackle any of her written patterns – even the more complicated ones. Sure, you’ll still have things to learn, but you will have the confidence and ability to be able to work things out and succeed.

You will be able to use any patterns in Shelley’s books, Granny Square Flair and Siren’s Atlas.

When: Over 10-weeks course for 2hours a session on a Wednesday 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Break for school holidays

Wk3: 1st May 2024

Wk4: 8th may 2024

Wk5: 15th May 2024

Wk6: 22nd May 2024

Wk7: 29th May 2024

Wk8: 5th June 2024

Wk10: 19th June 2024

Skill Level: If you can crochet a traditional granny square, you have all the skills you need to undertake Granny Square Academy.

Cost: $450 incl. a copy of Shelley Husbands Granny Square Academy book.

What to Bring:

8ply Yarn (recommendations provided below)
3.5mm - 4mm crochet hook
Scissors
Darning Needle

Materials can be purchased in store with your 10% voucher each week.

We recommend either the Bellissimo 8 (great for a blanket) or if you’d prefer a cotton Fiddlestick Wren.

Requirements: We require a minimum of 4 people for this workshop to go ahead. We will have a maximum of 6 participants in this workshop.

By booking and paying in full for this workshop you are guaranteed a spot. 'Payment on pick up' will not ensure your spot.

If you need to cancel your workshop spot, you will forfeit your payment for the workshop. If the event is full and we are able to fill your spot prior to the 3rd April ,2024 you will receive the refund minus merchant fee of $20.
