Founder and Owner: Helen – Indie Dyer, Knitter, Crocheter, Spinner

Based on Bribie Island, Queensland, Helen is the founder and owner of Knit or Dye. A trained marine biologist, she draws inspiration from the natural world, particularly animals, plants, and landscapes native to Australia. Beyond dyeing, Helen knits, crochets, and spins, so she understands the importance of high-quality fibre. Her hand-dyed yarns are beautiful, soft, and practical — a combination that’s often tricky to achieve.

Small-Batch, Hand-Dyed Yarns

All yarns at Knit or Dye are dyed in very small batches from our Bribie Island home base. This ensures every dye lot — and each individual skein — is special and unique, giving knitters and crocheters the perfect canvas to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind projects.
