Defective Items

In the case of defective items, we will be happy to replace them or refund the purchase price. If you believe your item is faulty, please contact us at info@grumpyginger.com.au. or visit us in-store.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Posted Items: Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Knots in Yarn: Knots in a skein/ball of yarn are not considered a defect. The industry standard is that 3 knots in a skein/ball are acceptable. If you find an unacceptable number of knots in your yarn, please contact us directly to discuss.

KnitPro Guarantee: KnitPro offers a 1-year guarantee for manufacturing defects on their products. This covers manufacturing faults such as a rough tip and not simply a snapped needle from undue stress. For full details, please see KnitPro's Replacement Policy.

Ashford Terms of Trade: Ashford offers 28 days of purchase Return Policy. The item must be in original condition, with the original sales receipt. For further details, please see Ashford Terms of Trade.

Thread and Maple Returns & Exchange Policy: If you are not happy with your order Thread and Maple will accept returns or exchanges within 42 days of your order date (receipt to be provided). For full details, please see Thread and Maple Refund Policy.

Hand-Dyed Yarn: With hand-dyed yarn, the colour may differ slightly from the image or from dye lot to dye lot; it is not considered a fault. Due to the process of hand-dyeing, colours will vary across batches. All images are to be used as a colour reference only.

 

Non-Defective Items

Please note that we do not refund due to change of mind, purchased the wrong item, or quantities. Please visit the Office of Fair-Trading website for further information.

Yarn Returns: For yarn, we can supply you with a store credit note if it is accompanied by proof of purchase within 6 months. The item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging, and is still stocked in our store.

Needles, Hooks and Accessories: For knitting needles, crochet hooks, and accessories, we can supply you with a store credit note, if it is accompanied by proof of purchase within 7 days.

Non-Returnable Items: We do not offer return or exchange on patterns, sales items, or consignment products unless faulty. We cannot accept yarn returns if it has been wound from a skein into a ball.

Knitting yarns that do not match the current batch number in store will not be given a refund or exchanged. Sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. Postage: Return postage is the responsibility of the customer, and products should be accompanied by a copy of the original receipt together with your contact details. We cannot accept liability of items being return for lost or damage in transit and recommend using a recorded delivery service.

Note: Returns can only be processed with an accompanied receipt by the store.

Seconds and Reduced Items: Please note that all seconds or reduced items are final sale.

Gift Vouchers: Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash, and any returned item purchased using a voucher will be onto a new voucher. To start a return: You can contact us at info@grumpyginger.com.au If your return is accepted you may return the item to the shop. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Refund: We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take several business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Exchanges: The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

 

Preorders

Preorders require full payment prior to the order being placed with the supplier. Preorders are final and are not subject to refund or exchange. For further information on preorders, refer to our Shipping and Collection Policy.

 

Shipping

We reserve the right to use whichever postal service is most appropriate for posting your items. All care is taken when packaging your items. We cannot be held responsible for lost or uninsured packages or if an incorrect delivery address was supplied at the time of the order. If a repost is required, this will be at your expense.

 

Workshops

You can cancel or change dates up to 10 days prior to the workshop and receive a partial refund. This ensures your spot can be made available for another interested student.

Change of date will only be accepted if there is an available spot in your newly chosen workshop.

If you opt to cancel your scheduled workshop a $30 admin fee will be retained at the time of issuing the refund.

Price, Colour and Description Disclaimer

All prices advertised on the website are in Australian dollars and are subject to change without notice.

It’s impossible to guarantee an accurate colour display for every computer monitor, so if you’re unsure, we recommend you visit our shop to inspect the yarn personally.
