Nellie and Eve – Plant-Dyed Yarns

Nellie and Eve is an indie yarn company based in rural West Wales, UK. Founder and dyer Helen Hickman hand-dyes British wool using botanical extracts and traditional natural dyeing methods.

Colours are inspired by the Welsh mountain landscape and changing seasons, and Helen is committed to using fleece from neighbouring small farms to create high-quality, exclusive yarns. The woolly miles for her ‘Limited Edition’ and ‘Single Farm’ collections are under 50 miles, from sheep to skein.

Mindful of the environment, yarns are dyed in small batches using natural spring water and compostable materials.

The brand is named in honour of Helen’s grandmothers: Nellie and Eve.
