Sian’s Yarns

Sian is a lifelong crafter with a passion for yarn, textiles, and bright, clever colourways that turn simple patterns into cosy, functional works of art.

All yarns are hand-dyed in her home studio in South Australia using professional acid dyes for long-lasting colour and vibrancy. Sian also creates unique project bags, often from recycled materials, combining her love of sewing with her yarn work.

She is proud to supply Skein Machine (Eden Hills, SA) and Grumpy Ginger Yarn (Wyong, NSW), and collaborates with makers like Pru Raymond on exciting projects. Family is central to her work, with her sister and niece contributing at markets and helping bring creative ideas to life.

Sian and her family believe in the power of creativity to relax, inspire, and “fill your cup”. They take pride in seeing makers use yarn in imaginative ways and embrace a community-focused approach: “a rising tide lifts all boats.”

Committed to sustainability, Sian’s Yarns uses recycled materials, Australian-sourced yarns, rainwater, solar electricity, compostable packaging, and carbon-neutral couriers wherever possible. The studio continuously improves its practices to share better, more responsible yarn with the community.
