Cork is also a sustainable and cruelty-free material. Harvested cork oak trees are legally protected and only stripped of their bark every nine years, allowing them to regenerate naturally. During this period, each tree can absorb up to five times more CO₂, making cork production environmentally beneficial as well as beautiful.
