What is Entrelac?

It is a technique used to create a textured diamond pattern. The finished work can resemble basket woven strips of fabric, but it is actually a series of interconnected squares designed to show off beautiful colourwork. Tunisian crochet is the ideal technique  for creating entrelac designs that can be used in many of your crochet projects. The workshop will introduce  you to the techniques that underpin Tunisian Entrelac Crochet to enhance your skill set and inspire new project ideas.

 Who’s it for?

Perfect for crocheters that have mastered the basics Tunisian Crochet stitches and wish to expand their range of techniques. In this workshop you will learn the foundational techniques for Tunisian Entrelac Crochet in three different styles.

This workshop is targeted at advanced beginner level for Tunisian Crochet.

 In this hands-on workshop we will cover:

·         Tunisian Entrelac Corner to Corner: we will make a coaster as the project.

·         Tunisian Entrelac Centre Out: we will make a coaster as the project.

·         Tunisian Entrelac Diagonal Rows: we will make a table placemat as the project.

The focus will be on practicing the stitch techniques

What to bring for the workshop

·         Yarn of your choice in two or more contrasting light colours in 8 or 10ply - we recommend Fiddlesticks Finch (10ply) or Wren (8ply) in 100% cotton.

Tunisian Crochet Hook (6mm for 8ply or 6.5mm/7mm for 10 ply.

 Prerequisites:

It will be assumed that you are able to crochet a swatch of fabric in Tunisian Simple Stitch.
