Have you always wanted to learn to weave? Join us for this full-day, hands-on workshop where you'll discover the fundamentals of weaving on a rigid heddle loom.
Designed for absolute beginners, this practical class will guide you through every step of the weaving process, giving you the confidence to continue weaving at home.
During this workshop, you'll learn:
- The different parts of a rigid heddle loom
- How to calculate yarn requirements for a project
- How to direct-peg warp a rigid heddle loom
- How to efficiently wind and use your shuttle
- Techniques for achieving neat, straight edges
- How to introduce and change colours in your weaving
- How to remove and finish your woven piece so it won't unravel
- Common weaving terminology and essential techniques
- An introduction to useful weaving tools and accessories
