Lace Knitting Workshop – Fresh Approaches to Lace
Explore lace knitting in a new and approachable way.
In this hands-on workshop, Aleks will guide you through the fundamentals of lace knitting using yarn overs and decreases to create elegant lace motifs worked seamlessly over stockinette stitch.
By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident to tackle fun lace patterns such as the Tappid Hat and Mitts.
Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner / Intermediate Knitter
Participants should be comfortable knitting and purling, casting on, binding off, and reading charts.
When:

8:30 am – 11:30 am
Materials Required:
• 4.5 mm / US 7 needles
– Approx. 24" / 60 cm circular needles or straight needles
– Alternatively, double-pointed needles or a second circular needle
• Stitch markers
• Yarn:
– 20 g worsted weight yarn (solid colour)
– 10 g fingering / 4 ply yarn (solid contrasting colour to worsted weight yarn)
Homework:
Students will be provided with instructions to knit a base swatch prior to the workshop. This takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
